Antares closeup, JPEG straight out of the camera, forgot to change it to RAW while doing an ST-4 calibrating run.
60 seconds, ISO 800, prime focus Takahashi FS-102. Nothing done to the picture.

How did you get the star spikes?

2 bits of fishing line and a couple of elastic bands on the dewshield :D

Hey that sound familiar John.....I love the defraction spike's...just gives it a nice appeal.

I normally don't like spikes, too chocolate boxy, but this shot is superb, nice result, Antares seems to draw you in and to me it's more representative of the sky I see than the majority of astro images. :thumbsup:

I looked hard for the secondery star but to no avail,good shot all the same
