First deep image with 10 inch recoated mirror

Hi All
Heres my first deep image with the recoated mirror, also using the Hutech UV/IR filter as well as UHCS filter , modded 350D and MPCC.
Lagoon Nebula, 3x5 mins ISO 1600, processed in Iris and Photoshop. 10 inch F5.6 scope, off axis guided.
I was going to process the images I took overnight when I get home this arvo but I couldnt wait to get at least one up :)

Pretty ordinary effort there Scott:eyepop: . You must be disappointed with that image:D , its all washed out with that red stuff and you seem to have dark blotches on the mirror:P . no wonder you were bouncing around like a cat on a hot tin roof, itching for some clear skies. Now we are due for clear skies for the next 3 days and you must sleep some time.:rofl: :thumbsup:

Nice and sharp with plenty of colour..just how I like it.

Question...why did you use ISO 1600 on such a bright Nebula...did you find the 1600 gave better response to say 800 which you use more commonly.

Many thanks all, yes Im stoked with it, and only a total imaging time of 15 mins too :) I will see about exposing even longer on the other nearby nebulae like Triffd, Omega and Eagle next time.
With my unmodded 300D I find that using the UHCS filter, best results are with ISO 1600, I once did a test of several stacked ISO 1600 shots of the Lagoon totalling 1/2 hour, and a single 1/2 hour shot @ISO 200, the ISO 200 shot was way inferior to the series of ISO 1600 shots. That said, Ive taken some other shots last night Im yet to process, at ISO 400, 10 mins each I will see how they go.

Sadly tonights weather isnt co operating with high cloud and wind, though I managed to get off 2 15 minute ISO 200 images of M104 thats still in the camera, will process and post them later.

This is a great image of the Lagoon Scott particularly given the short exposure time! Once you finish processing it I think it will be a wall hanger!

Is this a diffuse nebula like Eta Carinae, which requires a hydrogen α-sensitive camera to capture properly? I'd like to try it sometime with my stock Canon EOS-350D.

The lagoon can be captured quite well with a stock camera. Here is my effort from last season with my unmodified 300D.
