Thought the seeing looked passable naked eye but nope, good old seeing gods had invoked that fast jetstream that can't be picked with your eye - The camera tells all though :rolleyes: Had some tube currents as well. Note to self: set the scope up at least 3 hrs before bothering to shoot, not 1.5 hrs..

Ah well.

John, still a good result given the conditions. A bit cruel when the high magnification seeing doesn't live up to the naked eye appearance!

Creditable result for the conditions Asi, it seems the passage of Oval BA past the GRS has had very little effect on either, as expected.

My C9.25 needs 1 hr cool down, so 3hrs for a C11 WOW :eyepop:

Hi Troy & thanks. I have the CF model C11 so yes, at least 3 hrs is best. Depends completely on the circumstances of course. Right now it's housed in a room that gets rather warm during the day & the nights are still chilly so it has to drop at least 12-15 degrees. When summer finally gets here there is very little difference between day & night time temps. so less time is required for cooldown.

That's why I have put off buying/building an observatory. 8-)
