Hi All,
This thread is likely to be closed off & deleted very soon, but for those that do get to read it....:D :D :D
I recently posted a light hearted tongue-in-cheek reply to one of Mike's threads in which he used the word "d.ick smith". I simply pointed out the fact "in a light hearted manner" that he had inadvertently broken one of his own TOS rules...

My posting was immediately deleted by Rocket Boy without him giving any reason other than a PM saying that the post had been deleted.
I was very surprised at this OTT action. It was a light hearted comment that I was sure Mike (& everyone else) would see the funny side of.
Ahh well, I don't mind being moderated, and have been moderated (fairly) in the past, but this is a little OTT don't you think.
Cheers

We've been over the Dork Smith and similar issues a number of times. The filter is not perfect and it does filter words that would not be if it wasn't a just a dumb replacement rule. No big deal IMO. Poor old Smithee will have to be a Dork,... or maybe a Dirk. :confuse3: It's not something I cannot live with. :P

I know, I just thought it was funny when Mike used it & I couldn't resist. :P
I certainly do not want to re-open old issues & had my post not been deleted it would all been fogotten by now. I just thought it was way OTT. We all hassle each other from time to time. It's what makes this forum what it is. A little light hearted banter has never been moderated before? Yeah sure my post was off-topic but that's not unusual around here.
No hard feelings just OTT IMHO.
Cheers

Well, your message was spam. It's hard to argue otherwise. And not in General Chat either. So Andrew was not OTT to delete it.

Everyone's picking on me now!! :(
Where's the support when you need it... Am I really that naughty! :confuse3:
I was just plain surprised at the moderation! I would have at least thought that Mike would have been given the chance to moderate it personally, given it was his thread.
Cheers

Robby at the risk of making this out to be a mountain instead of the mole hill which it is, I'll just say that you and I both know it was unnecessary to continue on this way.
I followed all the guidelines a moderator is suppose to follow.
I PMed you and told you it would be up to Mike.

It's your decision to bring this out into the open forum like this.

I won't delete this thread, people that know me, know what I'm like, and that I treat people the way I would like to be treated.

Thank you.

No big deal, no mountain out of a mole hill.

I know Robby was just being silly/light-hearted, I appreciate that attitude and it's welcomed in most parts of the forum in one way or another.

D.ick is censored for obvious reasons, there's plenty of examples you could think of where it needs to be. Obviously that makes it look silly when trying to type "d.ick smith". It's not ideal, but it's all we have to work with.

Let's just leave it at that, eh? I'll PM you Robby.
