The seeing was reasonable this morning, and with some periods of clear sky I managed my first Jupiter for the season.

C11 with DMK21AU04.AS camera. Large shot is with a TV 2.5x Powermate, so f/25, small shot is at native f/10.

I'm less depressed about the 30 degr altitude after this session!

Well done Ivan, given the right conditions reckon Jup is still doable, even down to 30 degrees alt.

Nice work Ivan. Certainly doable at that altitude but seeing will want to be better than normal to make up for it.

Thanks Trevor, yes it was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, and gives me hope that there will still be good images to be had from down south.

Thanks John, the seeing was finally better than average. Reasonably stable, just the jetstream giving everything a bit of a soft focus effect. Will be magic if I can catch some good seeing.

Hi Steve, I agree. This is normally the less interesting side of Jupiter, what with the GRS and Oval BA on the other side. I was surprised how many of the streamers there were.

Thank you very much Larry.
