took these handheld with the 50-500 lens on the pentax yesterday.I did alright with the moon handheld resting on the fence at full zoom, something I wont try again. Gee the moon is very low to the north isn't it, just an observation.:D :P :lol:
Great images there Dave, really like the moon one too.
We noticed the same thing with the kids last night about the moon's setting position.

isnt it amazing what a difference 3 months makes, the moon was directly overhead, now its at some low angle to the north;)

Nice shots mate! You've done well to hold the camera steady at 500mm zoom.
Is that a bit of dust on your sensor slightly down and left from the centre?

Don't forget...we are in the year of a major lunar standstill.
Great shots Houghy and I too like the Moon image and it makes it more impressive to realise it was hand held!

thanks, it was no mean feat, the only thing I could lean on was the fence, and even then I was all over the shop!:rofl:
