My first attempt at a planetary nebula. 48 x 4 min subs @ ISO800 taken with a modded 400D and 200mm f6 newtonian from Griffith NSW.

Stacked/Processed with PixInsight, although I still have my training wheels very firmly attached. Hi res version here: http://www.astrobin.com/19670/

Advice and comments on how to improve this image are very :welcome:

I don't think that you can improve this image much. It's very nice as it is and absolutely brilliant for a first attempt! The only thing I noticed is a slight left to right trailing of some stars in the hi-res version but it's pretty minor.

Cheers

Yeah that's a corker. Hard to beat that. Only more data will make it deeper.

Thanks guys. My gear is still set up from yesterday (with the camera position unchanged), and it's another clear night tonight so i'm going to have another crack at this one to add to the image data. Will also have a look at my PHD settings to check whether I can improve the guiding stability.

some more image data, now up to 119 x 4min subs. Also made a few minor changes to the processing workflow.

Pretty happy with this now, but as always any advice on how to improve further always welcomed :)
