Well here's my Helix nebula. This one beat me, I just don't know what I can do anymore. Every attempt to take a decent photo of it has resulted in little of the Helix being visible through the light pollution or poor transparency of the day.

In the end I combined every effort to make this 6h exposure. The crappy Ha response of my camera make it for a very different looking Helix. It took several attempts to process it and still ended up with noise.

Think it's time to move on and find something else to take a photo of.

Go to the dark side......it's the only way

Wot, "only" 6 hours? It just needs more exposure. ;)

It seems the very best pics come from crazy long exposures. Personally I don't have that sort of endurance since I manually guide, or cloud free nights.

It's a pretty dim target Chris (tough even from a dark site). What length subs were you using?

2min subs at ISO320 for Saturday's effort. I believe the data has a set of 2min30sec subs at ISO250 as well, probably about an hours worth.
