Howdy all
Yes, its ready, my 10 inch Sutching made mirror (1/10th wave accurate full thickness pyrex) is coated with quartz overcoat, and ready to go. I will get the Newcastle Flyer train to Sydney in the early morning, then suburban train to Campsie to pick it up. When I took it there I soon found out how heacy a 10 inch full thickness mirror is hehehehe, its a 10 min walk from Campsie Station. I cant wait to have it back and installed ready to collect photons :)

Awesome. Let us know how it performs and how much difference you can see compared with mass produced mirrors.

 lets see its now 11.43, Scott will have left campsie now to head back to central station, then gingerly hopon a train back to Newcastle, then catch a bus from broadmeadow to wallsend, then walk home. I bet that mirror has never travelled in so much comfort ever:D :P

a mugger approaches Mr Alder in downtown Campsie, Scott realising he is in mortal danger resorts to using the mirror! Out of the bag he produces the shiny silvered quartzed items and with out a helitation collimates and orientates the mirror towards the sun.

"Go on mugger make my day"........mugger moves and then at the speed of light, is vapourised into a pile of dust. Scott paranoid about this dust quickly sheathes the mirror and continues on his way.............mirror testing is complete.......hehehe;) :D :P

Im back, with one lovely looking mirror, now in the scope and awaiting the first suitable night.
Hehehehe yes Id protect the morror with my life lol.
Wow, Issac of http://www.opticalcomponents.com.au/
is a fantastic person to deal with. I asked him how he does the overcoat, he said he doesnt just evaporate it on, rather he uses an E-Gun (Electron gun) to power on the coating, makign a much tougher overcoat. He said his chamber aquires a very good vacuum too, I think he mentioned 1x10-6 torr whish is a high vacuum according to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum
scroll down to Quality.

Heres a shot of the mirror in its cell just prior to going back in the scope. Theres a few motes of dust that landed on it while I was handling it, they blow away easy enough. The coating is absoloutely perfect in every way, I had a very close look. I thoroughly recommend them for coatings.
