Hi all,
For my last night in Tasmania before getting back on the boat I stayed at Cradle Mountain. Walking around Dove Lake circuit track with snow falling all around me was a magical experience, and as it was out of season I basically had the whole place to myself. I ended up walking the 7 km circuit track 3 times while I was there. I think I could do that walk every single day in what ever weather and not get sick of it.
I got the weirdest look from the receptionist at the place I was staying at when I checked out at 5am in the morning, but I wasn't going to miss the chance to maybe, just maybe, get some sunrise light over the mountain. It wasn't to be but I am still pretty happy with the shots I did get this morning. I had scoped out this spot the day before just after I arrived when the weather was a bit better and had clearer views of the mountain but the light wasn't as good and the water not as calm.
As always any comments or critique greatly appreciated.

You've outdone yourself Greg! Superb panorama. One of the best landscape shots I have seen for some time.

Great landscape image. It would look great up on a wall.
We missed Cradle Mt last time we were in Tassie and looking at this picture, i will not miss it again next time we go back.
I can relate to going for a walk around those types of areas as we we nt for a walk around Mt Field NP. It had just finished snowing and the setting was a winter wonderland. I just wish i took more photos.
Looking forward to returning one day.
I showed the Mrs your image and told her look what we missed:lol: She is keen to go back too:thumbsup:

Great shot greg. Hard to get the mountain to show itself in that weather or for the lake to be still enough for a reflection. I could get one or the other but not both. I love the wide view with the boatshed and your processing is exceptional. I can't wait to get back there in the summer some time.

terrific job. all the best Paul

Wow! Excellent shot Greg!
I love Tassie, one of my favorite places to be with a camera :-)

What did you stitch with?

Thank you so much Greg :D That is very kind of you to say. It is not my usual thing to photograph.

Thank you so much Steve :D Yeah this one is going straight to the pool room once I get it printed LARGE. I didn't make it up to the top of Mt Field. Like you, I am very keen to go back sooner rather than later.

It does :D Thanks Phil

Thank you very much Paul. :D I have other shots showing the mountain better taken the day before which I might get around to processing soon but the light was not as good. This was all processed from the 3 single images that went into the pano.

Thank you so much Hugh :D I fell in love with the place too and I am keen to get back very soon. I used PTGui Pro to put this together. It's not a very wide field of view or with a wide angle lens so I'm sure any pano software could handle this one with ease. PTGui Pro really comes into it's own when I start throwing my landscape astrophotography panoramas into it.
