Hi all,

I consider this a consolation prize. This location was only a 2 minute drive from where I was staying for most of my aurora chasing holiday in Tasmania. I had this ear marked as my first go to spot if there were any reports of aurora but sadly it was not to be on this trip.

Cheers

You've gotta be happy with that Greg. Beautiful shot! You're not the only one being tormented by the aurora, mate.

Thank you very much Colin and RG. :D I'll get them one night Colin. I'm planning on heading back to Tassie early(ish) next year.

I may go down late November if I do the monster drive from Perth to Cairns for the eclipse. Chance to visit my dad in Melbourne and break up the drive. Will have a truckload of gear! :)

I have not decided if I'm doing the total eclipse or not yet. I have zero time off work left for this year so it would mean sweet talking to my boss and roughing it, as I'm sure accommodation is well and truly booked out in most areas. Might just wait for the one that passes directly through Sydney in 2020??? (i think from memory).

Nice one Greg, that would've been beautiful with an aurora!

Great shot regardless.

Lovely image, Greg.

As for an aurora, you might need to plan a trip to Antarctica...

Thank you so much Mike and Brian :D If I can scrape together enough cash a trip back to Canada could be in order Brian. I went there 8 years ago and I am keen to go back with cameras in hand. Anyone want a kidney?
