Jupiter & europa. 30th April

No cool down on these ones, I was in a hurry. The first 3 are at F20 & the bigger one at F30.

C9.25 & Toucam.

EDIT: YUCK! :scared: crashed my desktop tonight (CRT monitor) & this is the first time I've seen my images on this forum using my LCD laptop. They look shocking to me. Give me my CRT monitor back!:sad: :bashcomp:

A very nice set of images John - they look fine on my LCD as that's all I have. I just love that 3-D look of the Io transit. Thanks for posting.

Geee wiz you must run on super duper energizers. After I took 3 Avi last night before midnight dew came in very quickly. My images are not as good as yours, and I know these are no where near your satisfaction level, but your processing has bourght out detail that I could not.

I said to my self that seeing was 4/10. Would you agree?:thumbsup:

Hi Lester. Very interesting you gave seeing a 4/10. I only shot for 45 secs on all, & optimized @ 90% in registax. All final images are 100 frames stacked. I'd give it an 8+/10.

Yes, incredibly dewy while I was out there! Worst I've seen it this year. I figured something was astray, jupiter didn't look 'right' on screen, I had to shoot at completely different settings than normal.

I'm intrigued by how different they look on my LCD compared to my CRT. Dennis said they looked ok on his...but I have a 5 yr. old laptop. Is there a difference between mine & a latest model laptop ?

Just a bit Asi and that doesn't include the changes in your screen colour rendition each month.


Those imagers that want to ensure that their processing is producing accurate results will often callibrate their monitors every months with equipment specifically designed for monitor callibration. If you were able to see your laptop new and compare it to how it is now I think you would be surprised at the difference.

i now have a old crt and my newish dell laptop lcd screen to try and meet a happy medium,

for some reason, mike always gets it right for both my screens, whilst chris go's resampled ones on CN don't look good on my laptop???

Hey Asi, I've been off-line camping for a few days with no scope.:sadeyes: Just returned. This looks pretty good to me on my lappy screen - it's one of thse newer shiny ones. The moon and shadow are VERY fine suggesting spot on focus. I like 'em!:thumbsup:

Yeah I'm finding focus is a piece of cake with the C9.25. I've never had trouble in this area even with the cheese grater I had on the refractor. Must be just lucky...
