Hi,

More time on the Milkyway better focus and better tracking has much improved from the short exposure from last night.

I managed to mount the camera in such a way as not to vignetted by the dome opening on the observatory scope.

This image is a combination of ISO 400 - 800 - 1600, exposure times from two to five minutes 18mm at f/5.

Cheers,

Justin.

This one is of course an improvement Justin but there was nothing wrong with the first one considering the short exposure. The detail and colour look quite good.

Lovely sharp photo, Justin. You should be very pleased with that. On my monitor the brighter stars have a slight purplish cast.

I'm loving those whispy dusty bits. What a great pic.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Here's a repro, managed to get most of the magneta out plus a apply a little more saturation.

Cheers,

Justin.

That's a lovely pic. I didn't mind the magenta but it is certainly an improvement.

Thanks Rick and Pete!

It's good posting images here, occasionally problems are pointed out that I just seem to miss, like the magneta.

Cheers,

Justin.
