Conditions were all over the place yesterday despite it being cloud free all day. The seeing was not co-operating but I captured these proms after attempting two mosaic runs, which turned out to be duds.
Newtons rings are such a pain. With any luck this will all be sorted soon.

Actually nice proms Paul. Agree about those newton rings. A real pain.
It does seems like the stacking routine struggled with the seeing conditions.

Hi Paul - some good stuff there. I have read and heard about the newton rings but I do not have a clue as to what it means / is going on. Can you give a definition for dummies!!!!????

Thanks guys
Matt, newtons rings occur when the monochomatic light passes through a glass pane very close to the sensor. It becomes very evident with high magnification imaging.

Not too shabby Paul, but the fine detail looks blurred to me...humm still early...single malt still intact :)... almost like a double image. Any idea what's happening there?

Pretty average seeing Pete and could be that I was not entirely on band. Been struggling of late to hit the band dead center. Sweet spots are starting to really annoy. ;)

Seeing caused the blur?
Greg.
