My take on Cape Leveque...at moonrise, cw. Mike's moonset shots. This is a frame from a timelapse I did in early June.

The rocks are quite unique for north WA in that the're young, flat lying and have sourced much older iron bearing rocks causing their intense red colour. Similar rocks exist along the entire Dampier peninsular.

Beautiful, Colin! I remember that rock - I've got a pic of it facing the other way.

Yeah that's awesome. Terrific composition, nicely balanced objects on both sides and great colouration/balance of colours keeping it very interesting. Whats cw mean?

What size moon was this? It seems to be a favourite scene to do these nightscapes with a partial moon rising or setting for lighting.

Greg.

Thanks fellas!

Thanks Greg. cw=compared with. The moon around 1/2 or less is great for nightscape lighting + lots of stars.

Here's my photo from the same place, at twilight, but facing back towards the rock wall.

Nice. That spot has great reflections after a high tide.
