Seeing wasn't too shabby this morning :)....I suspect had I started earlier (but hey, it was Father's day) seeing would have been even better.
Fairly pleased with this one....

The surface detail is exquisite. Was the prom on the upper left unusually faint, or does the 16bit camera still need two different exposure lengths to catch the prominences and the surface detail?
cheers,
Andrew.

Ta.
Contrary to the specs, PG cameras are not capable of 16 bit capture (while the D/A could be, the pixels simply don't have the well depth).
Also due to the massive file sizes, this was an 8 bit capture. I did however do a second (prom) pass....they weren't overly bright...I just haven't got around to processing it yet.
Thanks :)

Thanks Dave. The flares were problematic...but I decided to leave them as hot-spots...errr.... flares? :)
Thanks..had a great Dad's day

Disk detail is superb. Not sure about the proms. Currently processing out an 11 panel mosaic from today. Nice proms today.

Thanks Paul.... Working on the proms (no-existant in that image) as we speak, BTW these PG cameras do weird in camera processing which I'm still getting a handle on...

Amazing contrast and detail on the disc. Recent Ha images are just amazing. The gear (scopes, cameras, and software) in amateur hands is getting pretty serious.
