Hi all,
While photographing tonight's Moonrise from Mt Coot-tha (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=890380#post890380) I was lucky enough to capture this jet passing in front of the Moon. Hope you like the result!
Cheers,
Stephen

A great composition (well done on the timing!).
Also, shows the "Rabbit in the Moon" really well.

:D How exciting for you!!! Seeing it heading towards the Moon, the anticipation, is it or isn't it going to transit. And then the capture. :D woo hoo lucky you.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I'd seen the jet approaching about a minute before it reached the Moon, and was trying to work out if it would transit, which did generate a bit of excitement. Last time I had the opportunity to do this I mucked up the focus, so it was nice to get it right this time!
Here's a new version which I quite like - it puts the Moon in context.
Cheers,
Stephen

timed to perfection. Love how the engines vapor has created a distorted section of the Moon.

Thanks Steve!
I just checked on the Brisbane Airport website, and this was a Boeing 777, Emirates flight EK435 from Auckland.
Cheers,
Stephen
Well done Stephen!! I would have been all fingers and thumbs preparing for the jet to cross the Moon. Congats on IOTW too.
