Just thought I'd let everyone know, looks like Bunnings has their Pelican style case back, I know they're pretty sought after.. About $40 for a big one with pick-pack foam and the works..

Not sure if they all have them, I got one from their Rouse Hill store

If those are the Kincrome ones, they have very stiff latches. I bought one a few years ago and cannot use it, I can't undo it without a good sized screwdriver to pry up the4 catch. Maybe they've improved them, I certainly hope so.

Was in the Ashfield Bunnings on Mondy and definitely there as well, seem to have quite a few in stock. Was tempted to get one but had to resist the impulse :)
That's the problem with going to Bunnings, often hard to stick to just the shopping list ;)

Is it the Kincrome (yellow) safe case one or not? If so, they've had those for ages. The large size is $87.

(I bought the extra-large Duratech one from Jaycar, anyway, so I'm really just wandering if I've been black-catted ... ;) )

Damn my nearest store is about 110klm's away
All is not lost an electronics store locally sells Duratec brand cases
Cost a bit more but still cheaper than a pelican !

I've got two bought a couple of years apart and the stiffness of the catches is a lot different, the later one being stiffer. Might be wise to pull the case out of the box and test the catches before purchase. The earlier one also has an issue where the rubber seal partly falls out every time I open the box so that's something else to look for.

The yellow case I have is significantly better quality than my two black cases. The black cases are larger though.

How much quality is needed? All the case needs to do is be reasonably easy to open and close, seal tight and not fall apart .....

(Guilty secret: If I had the money, I'd buy "top quality" everytime, whether I needed it or not).

A tip for the stiff catches, a small dab of vasaline or olive oil will loosen up you catches, or just about any lubricant will do.:)
Cheers:thumbsup:

No, it wasn't the yellow Kinchrome one (I'm not home at the moment, so don't know the exact brand) its was black, roughly 40cmx30cm or so... The latches seemed pretty easy to open..

If it's the last black one I bought from Bunnings, you can fit an EQ6 inside (without weights).
