Very impressive and inspiring! I wonder what the limiting magnitude is here?

Nice Martin, you have us all at a distinct disadvantage now. Two sites to choose from. I'll bet there are not many nights one or both systems are not operating.

Very nice picture but many stars seem to have sharpening artifacts
or is that caused by downsizing to a small .jpg?

Thanks again.
Paul - it is certainly great fun having two observatories seperated by an entire hemisphere. I am particularly thrilled when I am imaging on both simultaneously, and I have had to put labels on the monitors to remind me which system is which.
You are going to see many artefacts if you are only looking at the 200kb thumbnail. I am always very careful about any sort of artefact from processing, so I dont think you will find those in the full image. As for the reflections - they do not appear to be a problem on axis, but off-axis is a different story. There again, I have 3 high quality scopes from different manufacturers and I have owned 3 different types of filter - and it doesnt matter - you are going to get reflections and you have to live with them either being outrageously bad or tolerable.

Sorry Martin,
It was late at night & I didn't see the link for the larger size.
The large picture is perfect.

Please keep the smorgasboard of fantastic images coming Martin. Loving every single one of them, this image included of course. Gosh you make NB look easy.

Just sublime, yet again Martin.
You are really imaging Deep-Sky at a level the rest of us hoi-polloi can't reach at present....but I have to say raising the bar as you have, is a good thing :thumbsup:

Very nice work on one of my favorite nebula. Details and colors are spot on. I have a question about the bright off-axis stars halos as they seem to show a pupil type reflection. Have you been able to track that down?
I was just wondering as I am always interested in these types of issues.
Again, wonderful image!
