Hi all,
Third go at the DMK51 / Lunt60 combination. Getting the hang of the set up but an uninterrupted long session with good seeing would be useful!
The attached images are at the same exposure 1/154 and I just ramped up the gamma for some prom detail. Processed in Registax5.
Been playing with colour but that is another story!

Looks like new camera is working really well. Very smooth.
Couple of questions:
Do you get full 15fps with it?
Is that a full frame or are they cropped?

Thanks all! Hi Arek, I am not sure re fps - slower than the DMK31 but 12-15 fps feels about right. I cropped off a little bit of width and a touch of height - not too much.

Looking pretty impressive Matt, I know very little about Solar imaging but wondered if you could combine the two to get the nice proms + the nicely exposed disk?

Hi Trevor - yes I can do that - I may give it a go soon. To do it well I would need to pump up the exposure / Gamma for the prom image.
I really just wanted to do one like this an colour it to see if I could be super lazy.
This style is copied from another solar bloke in another solar forum. Pedro has the same set up and I really love his disc shots!

Great result !! I love the color mapped version, smooth and detailed. Has your Lunt60 a double stacked etalon ?

Matt, if you allow me I would have the following suggestions for you to try:

1- To process your AVIs, try Autostakkert instead of Registax (download from here: http://www.autostakkert.com/wp/download/)

2- Watch the tutorials from Keen Crowford regarding sharpening and full disc composition. There is a better option to sharp solar images than wavelets, which is the tool Smart Sharp in Photoshop. (http://www.imagingdeepsky.com/Tutorials/Solar_FullDisk.htm

Thanks Fernando. I do have the 50DS for the LS60 - but conditions make it challenging most times (higher exp and lower frame rates) - I did not use it on these images.
When time permits I will play with Autostakkert - I am often time poor but I will get there.
I have seen Ken's tutorials - I do realise there is so much more to do than what my routine is - once again I will get there one day!
