I finally got myself a roll of red lighting "GEL" as use in stage productions to change the colour of lights, thanks to Ken BD for this suggestion.
Only costs $10 for a 1.2 metre roll which will do several laptops !
It works a treat, much better than Celophane, which is all crinkley & hard to see through.

So do you have a spare 300mm x 230mm piece (he asks leadingly)...?

A roll? Does that mean it's flexible?

Yes, Mike it is flexible.
A great advance on Celophane, I am going to use adhesive velcro "dots" to make it easily attachable to the screen.
Hmmm ... Vermin you have given me an Idea
"GAA_IAN's laptop "Eyesaver" Screen filters, cut to size, complete with velcro dots, $9.95 + P&H ;)
