Well this is my first go at this one - only got just over 2h worth of data with cooled Canon 40D and a york 80mm scope. its not a perfect scope - has a fringe (needs a haircut)

Processed in pixinsight - slight crop because of some rotation - which i noticed during the imaging run and adjusted the drift alignment the following night.

So its my version of a M8 swampy right foot - its not perfect but its mine ;)

EDIT - REPRO ADDED TO KEEP SANITY:D

:) It's a tight fit in the FOV isn't it.
The background could use a run through with HLVG, then I reckon it will be a cracker of a shot.
I don't think you'll get better than that using an 80mm Dave. Well done. :D

I agree - a nice shot but I don't think David has Photoshop.
It needs a star mask to stop burning out the stars
& also get rid of the slight green cast.
It's hard to do that without Photoshop.
Anyway - well done.

You almost got it all Dave. Looks good.
HLVG won't do it, Blue has been clipped off. Fix that first.
Some sort of reduce star size / blue stars type action clipped the blue maybe?

I see the foot but it's a Left Foot?...then again depends how you look at it I guess.

Nice result Dave

your left foot must be slightly distorted Mike:rofl: the big toe is at the top and the smaller one at the bottom:P

now if it were mirrored it would look leftish:rofl:

Well, I was seeing it as a footprint so the curve of the arch print is that of a left foot and which side has the big toe is rather vague.

I like the colour and dynamic range of the first one. I'll admit it's more "clipped", but there's better contrast in the centre of the nebula.

Nice capture Dave. I'm with Mike - looks like a left foot to me!
