Regretfully selling.

I-star optical 6 inch f/10 achromat with moonlite focuser.
I do not have a mount for it. Have had it for over a year and is still in original box covered in foam and wrapped.
Focuser and lens haven't even been attached.

Cannot afford a mount so hoping with the sale of this I can buy a ready to go downsized setup.

Paid over $2100 for scope with upgraded focuser and shipping.

Lens came with interferometer test, im not sure what it means but i have attached a scan for those who know.

Local pick up would be good (Newcastle) as the scope is very big.
Postage would be possible at buyers expense, or maybe we could negotiate something.

I remember reading a review on these Istars in Sky & Night. They commented that mounting isn't purely a weight issue but actually torque on the mount when slewing due to the extra length of the OTA (especially if there is any wind). Consequently they recommended at least an EQ6PRO with the tripod legs fully extended at all times so as to avoid sitting on ground when observing beyond 60' :lol:

Yeah i guess that would be the case with all 6 inch f/10's.
Not anything specific to this scope. They are big.
