@Troy – is that an abstruse reference to a shrieking Marmot on a rock?;)

Thanks for all the kind comments. It took quite a while to do all the processing but think of all the Sidonio's that I can now do. I have a few more images to post when I get around to it but one more piece of equipment to test and then I'll get really serious.

Great selection Allan, it's great when it all comes together like that eh?
The Veil gets my vote as your best up there..verrrry nice.
As usual, now wishing I had spent way more time at AF, oh well, maybe next year for the 20th anniversary.

Great collection here Allan, in particular IC4603 has my preference :)
I have to find a way to join this astrofest soon or later, it would be a great chance to meet you guys. Do they also cook sausauges and burgers for visitors on daytime? :D

It was excellent catching up with you and your great "software" for processing those images. I may get that program!

I'm retired now and the wife came home and asked what I had been up to and I said I was processing my images from Astrofest.
"So nothing all day?"" was the curt reply.

Anytime Marco, you'd be welcomed and as all can attest the food is something to write home about!!!! We all hang around and BS the day away until nightime and then its full on, and then BS some more. I spotted IC4603 at the top of images of the Rho Orphicus complex and thought that it would make a great target on its own but using an f10 10"scope made it a very faint target that required a bit to get it as its sooooo faint.

See above Pete.

Im sure Marco could do more than that seeing his great images.

I did pick up on you humour Mike. Not senile yet ! I really loved his Lobster neb really maximising his use of the remote observatory - maybe thats what you should do with your shift to Canberra.

Thanks for the comment Lydia - had fun getting them

Thanks Marc, but I learned one lesson. Get 2-3 times more data than you think you need. Makes the processing far easier and does justice to the image.

Thanks Paul, I've reprocessed them all and more happy with the images but won't re-post the Sidonios but the data allowed better and smoother images as well as more subtle use of colour and detail. Just getting the data is the first step and processing the other half of the equation.
