:birthday: Happy 35th Birthday Voyager! :birthday:

Godspeed as you exit our solar system into interstellar space (according to this video, it seems it may only be within a few years away).
You continue to educate us and fascinate us. We love you Voyager & I think I speak on behalf of many when I say that I don't think there's been another robotic craft that brings us so much emotion and attachment as you.
Mega *smoooch* Voyager xoxo.
Whoa, that's a very girrrly post what! I am.:P

A great article here (http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/Timothy-Ferris-on-Voyagers-Never-Ending-Journey.html#ixzz1spGLhEhX) written by Timothy Ferris.

If anyone has any fond memories as this mission set forth, I would love to hear them!

Fascinating story Suzy, one seems to forget about these things over time, until we are reminded of this little trooper, thanks for sharing this.

Ditto what Suzy said.
The Voyager Space Craft 1 and 2 are my favourite Robotic explorers
of all.:)
To see the images come back of the planets over the long journey to Neptune and beyond was just mind blowing.
It will be interesting to see if they even get close to any asteroids or other space Debris on the way towards the end of the Solar System.

Go Voyagers
Cheers:thumbsup:

Was I only 8 when they left? Seems a lifetime ago.

Can't wait for V'Ger to return! ;)

Just throwing in a few more Voyager celebrations. I'm not sure how long the celebration will last as the fanfare is still going on in my newsfeed on facebook.

Ann Druyan (Carl Sagan's widow) gives a speech for Voyager's anniversary.

An incredible pic here that Voyager took of the Earth and the Moon.

Suzy, I just got some news back from the BBC that one of my timelapses will be in a Brian Cox series (wonders of life). If I get to meet him (extremely unlikely), I'll pass on your best wishes.. ;)

The Voyager 1 Jupiter encounter awakened my interest in space/astro. I devoured every bit of info on the mission after that and followed all the subsequent encounters...watching the Neptune flyby via a melbourne uni live feed.

As a lad at the time obsessed with all things astronomical and electronic, the voyager launches was one of the things I remember being extremely excited about. I mean, it was nuclear powered, packed with computers.. for the "Thunderbirds generation" what wasn't there to love?

I had seen the photos from the Pioneer 10 & 11 probes, and this promised to be even better.

Many will remember that, at the time, planetary imaging from the surface with film was sooo bad, worse even in many cases than actually looking through the eyepiece! The images returned by these probes was truly breathtaking.

How far things have come. Thank you Suzy for reminding me we are truly living in a golden age!

And I'm not surprised, you're timelapses are beyond awesome!
Yes, yes, pleeeease tell Brian hello from me.:D
Apologies I took so long to respond, I did see this when you posted it and seems I got sidetracked and forgot to comment.

I've just come across this this NASA talk on an update on the Voyager mission- it's very interesting and educational.
Thanks Ron for bringing it to my attention.
