I trialled out my 5" refractor with the QSI583WSG on an EQ6 mount after the latter had been in storage for 12 months since the last Astrofest.
Its a combination of Ha:L:R:G:B with L and Ha captured at 1x1 and colour frames at 2x2 binning. L and Ha were 5x15min subs while RGB were captured in 4x5min subs. Stacked in DSS and processed in PS3
Comments welcomed but I must say that the David Trewen's focus controller worked a real treat and Im very happy with it.

Allan,

Nice detail! The centre is less blue than I'm used to seeing. Is that a result of blending in the Ha?

Cheers,
Rick.

I'm loving the depth and detail you've achieved within the outer loop.
Stunning work Allan.

Which actions did you use? :scared3:

Yes Rick I was concentrating on the detail and not noticed that I had culled the blue center. A Sidonio has been posted above.

I was happy with the resolution etc and used the full suite of the Auto-Osseus actions just for your edification.

As you mentioned up there, getting those tendrils coming out in the middle nicely.

Might just be my monitor, but some of the stars looking a bit on the purple side?

Thanks for the comments Ross - its appreciated

Mike, not as deep as I would have wanted but the 5"did well. I'd love to go back and have a go with the 10" right in the middle to see wht detail I could get.

A great shot, nice and crisp and deep, and nicely processed as well!
Thanks for the view Allan. :)

I haven't got around to try the Helix yet with the QSI, although I'm currently trying to image another target nearby - if these clouds will ever part here.

When you do image it, the Ha really adds dimension to the RGB or LRGB image and there is a lot that you can do with it.
