I took some time off from the scope and the hustle and bustle of the imaging field during Astrofest, to wander down the road, cross the causeway across the Brisbane River, and take a few night scapes and a set of star trails. All taken on different nights.
The Trails consist of 9x10min ISO200
The other photos are just 45 second exposures @ ISO3200.
All taken using my Tamron 18-200mm lens and the Canon 550D.
I like the last one the best. :)

babez,
I like the last image, too. Nice features!
I would take a little bit off the left to centre the trees. :)

Nice shots JJJ. I like the star trails the best.
How did you layer them together? Lighten mode in Photoshop?
I have done one before but I forget how I did it. One of them I think I just had the camera do a 4 hour long exposure. The other I did 3 x 15minutes.

I just used StarTrails.de to create it. No post processing. If it wasn't for the car lights in the corner, I probably would have done some more work on it. :)

The star trail is my pick as well. Nicely done jjj!
Where the car lights only in a few of the exposures? If so you can just blacken them out (by painting over them) on those few frames and then re-stack the series. Same can be done to remove planes if required.
Cheers,
Stephen

Nice work JJJ, sounds like you had a great time. It sure was quiet here and on FB without you ;)

 It must have been very restful for everyone then.
But seriously, those who know me, know I'm the shy, retired, mousey sort of person. :hi:
