A new toy for solar imaging

Hi all,
My DMK51 saw it's first session this afternoon. I am very excited as this imager gives a full disc of the Sun through my Lunt 60 Hydrogen Alpha scope.
The images from today were not great - conditions and some inexperience - but overall I am wrapped to be able to capture the Sun in one frame.
The attached image is the actual first image that the camera took.
Exp 1/217sec, Gamma 72 - about 50/600 from Registax5.
Looking forward to many more sessions with this set up (will also be great for widefield Moon snaps through my 8")

I was wondering about these. Its been a while since I was looking at them. What's the pixel size? Smaller than the DMK 41 or similar?

Interested to see how it goes. It'll be a great weapon for ISS crossings!:thumbsup:

Ah, yes... 4.4µm pixels, that's right. A bit smaller than the DMK 41, so a little more resolution and image scale... and just a little more susceptible to seeing. Looking forward to seeing how it goes:thumbsup:.

Nice Matt. I have been looking at these too and the PGR 2.8 camera. Two panels or preferable one is going to be easier for high def solar imaging rather than doing 11-15 panels now.

Thanks all - I chose this one as I am familiar with the DMK's and it does what I like very easily - it will never do hi-res but when conditions are good it will give sweet images!

Very nice Matt, detail looks great right across the disk and the limb looks so natural as do the proms, reckon your on a winner with this camera.
