Has anyone replaced the recticle in theres ?

I went out last night to find mine not working and while trying to see
what was amiss put my finger through the (diffuser screen ? )
The tear left a batman like image on the screen which sort of worked well if you used the point of his ear as a pointing tool , but in the light of day its pretty much useless and in need of fixing.

This morning I see the recticle had actually fallen off and was floating around the bottom of the assembly .

Aside cutting out some sort of new diffuser screen how does the recticle attach , silicon?

Hi Graham,

For a replacement reticle try this link.

http://www.astronomics.com/main/product.asp/catalog_name/astronomics/category_name/2DNUFM33CE2S9KTPBVGJN12PF1/product_id/3999

Google 'telrad reticle' and you'll find more.

Remove the battery compartment lid.
The reticle is easy to get at, remove the old one and use very small amounts of your favourite glue on each corner to attach the new one.

Cheers,

Chris

thanks guys , I actually have the recticle and it looks ok Its the opaque screen beheind it I wrecked, though I think The real problem has been leaving it on over the years the other screen I barely touched just fell to pieces,I'll have a dig at fixing it and see how it goes .

That wasn't to painlfull, firstly I cleaned up the mounting block for the reticle , scratched off the old glue , then found an old eypiece cap to cut and use as the back , glued the recticle to it and it to the telrad and its all good... hopefully
