Hi Folks
Otherwise known as the Tulip Nebula, I have once again gathered much of this data during the last lunar cycle, with many of the subs being 1 hour in duration - and still managing to pull out 1.6 - 1.8 raw FWHM.

Very little OIII again and it was all isolated to the very centre of the 'tulip'.

Total of 26 hours (SII - 8, Ha - 9.5, OIII - 8.5). Planewave CDK 17", Apogee U16M, Astrodon filters

and while it doesnt quite compare to the APOD on 26 Jul taken with the 0.9m at BYU, here it is.

thanks for checking it out.

That's great Martin & yours seems better than the APOD?

Martin this is a beautiful image and in the trademark detail you present, I would class this as well above the APOD, in my book anyway and I think a lot of others would agree.
Well worth the time to produce it and it's simply stunning.
Thank you very much for showing it, you can sit and look around this image and simply get lost in it.

Another magnificent image from your US CDK17 setup. That is such a winning setup.

The only very minor comment would be I found the diffraction spikes on that bright yellow star look to have a tinge of green in the yellow that I didn't like.

You've got your processing down to a fine art.

Greg.

Thanks very much!

No Graham - just a hobby like the rest of us.

Greg- thanks for noticing that. I will get that fixed.

Subtle detail is just amazing, does look like a professional scope image. The dust strands and branches I can't stop staring at.

Martin that's incredible, the more I look at it, the more I feel like I'm out there floating in space not far from it.

A lovely image, Martin. I think it compares very favourably with the APOD despite the size disadvantage!

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks again.

Actually Steve, I have a few targets long finished, but not posted because I regard them as bad.
