View Full Version here: : Anzac day Jupiter
All,
After many weeks of very poor seeing from my home I decided to move the scope for last nights imaging session to a local hill which is the home to Mount Stromlo observatory. The result was much better seeing than anything I've had recently although the persistent wind made life interesting. The seeing was probably averaging 8/10 with moments up to 9/10.
Equipment:
13.1" f/5.5 newtonian @ F38
Losmandy G11 + Gemini
Dragonfly Express mono firewire camera
Filter wheel + Astronomik filters
40 seconds in each colour @ 35fps

OMG that's just stunning :eyepop: I think this is one of your best Anthony. The second one is amazing, the detail in and around the GRS is unbelievable.
There's something to see everywhere you look! Top stuff Bird.
Excellent view of Red Jr too - was last night the collaboration with HST as well? Clouds ruined any chance I had to contribute.

Thanks Mike, yes last night was the re-scheduled HST run, will be interesting to see how the amateur images stack up...

Wow! Amazing stuff, Anthony.:scared:
The detail around the GRS and inside Red Jnr just blows me away.
I might have to pack the 9.25 in the car and do the same thing!!!!

Red Jnr is really for the first time starting to look like a mini GRS - incredible definition and detail.
Congratulations

Outstanding! Congrats. I guess the old Mt Stromlo site despite it's light pollution from Canberra does not look like a bad site after all!
