Hi all,

I spent last night at Pauls where me Paul and Graeme passed the time looking at the clouds. Paul had used various predictions to decide that we would have a clear night of imaging. It seems his sources were wrong. At around 12pm Graeme made the ultimate sacrifice of packing up to go home, and 5 minutes after he had left the sky opened up revealing the stars. With limited time before moonrise I decided on doing a target that I could do narrowband on.

I managed to get 3 10 minute 2x2 binned colour subs and 4 15 minute luminance before the moon came up and ruined our party.

I then set the scope to do some HA and went and had a nap, after the first sub something went wrong so I could not use it. Attached is the one 20 min HA sub to show its potential.

Hi Peter,

I love your persistence. The shot does show promise.

It's usually a trick I do well.......I pack up then the clouds clear!

Ross.

Well I hope you appreciated the gesture :). Glad you got something out of the evening. Sigh - maybe next time for me. Plenty of nebulosity there and good colour, but maybe lacking a bit in sharpness?

Yes it's a bit blurry - he just needed more subframes - I think.
The colours are splendid though.

This has no sharpening applied to it, I found that as soon as I did any it turned into a mess of noise. I will definitely be spending some time on this in the future especially the Hydrogen alpha from my place.

Hey still a good effort despite the predicted clear skies. :P Was still great to catch up with you both and talk turkey.
