Hi all,

I got up this morning to catch the Jupiter Moon conjunction this morning, and had the bonus of a bright (mag -2.3) ISS pass nearby at 5:13. A beautiful sight! Here's a couple of images of the event.

The first image is a stack of 0.8 sec exposures using the EF 35mm f/2 lens at f/2.8 and 800 iso, and the inset is taken with the 70-200mm f/4L.

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks for the view:thumbsup:. I was on Skysafari this morning and happened to see Jupiter very close to the Moon and was a little angry at myself for missing the chance to go out and observe/image it.:mad2:
Next time. . .

Nice work Stephen, I’m so pleased that you persisted as I looked out of the bedroom window at 4:00am and saw wall to wall clouds so slipped back into the land of zeds!
I particularly love the 1st image – top work!

Cheers

Thanks Steve and Dennis! Yes, I got lucky because there seemed to be not a cloud in the sky at 5am.

I'm hoping that it's clear on Tuesday morning for the Moon-Venus conjunction, as I'd like to capture that as well!

Cheers,
Stephen

Sorry to burst your bubble but that was not the Iss at that time of hour on that day. It was the OAO2 sat and about 40 minutes before was Hubble.

Az. Love the peladies you captured to the left!

Hmm, Starry Night Pro shows the ISS in this position at 5:11:48am from Brisbane, so I’d say Stephen has a triple treat indeed!

Cheers
