View Full Version here: : M20 The Triffid Nebula
Located in the constellation of Sagittarius
I always think of the Ray Bradbury book Day of the Triffids
Taken from my home in Nth East Vic during July. Skies were pretty awful at my place that month, but it sure beats sitting inside watching TV.
Details:
34 x 5min @ 1600iso
Scope: ED120
Camera: canon 500d
Processing: Nebulosity3 and PhotoshopCS5
Image dramatically reduced to upload.

Another great image Carl  I just noticed the time that you uploaded these. I take it you also had spectacular sky conditions down there as well. What target can I expect to be wowed by at a future ASAW meeting?

The blue reflection nebula has come out well.
Another fine photo.

What I'm noticing in all of these images you're posting is a wonderfully flat field of stars. What flattener are you using? And your guiding seems to be very good, too! Great stuff!

Nice image, Carl, but it was John Wyndham who wrote Day of the Triffids :)

Well done Carl. Nice work with the colours.
I've always been hopeless with Authors names. Great book though, terrible TV version

Hi Greg
thanks for the post. I'm trying to image M8, the Lagoon Nebula but focusing over the last 3 nights has been hopeless.
Catch up soon

Excellent image, Carl. Especially so with an SLR and only 120mm of aperture. Nice tight stars with plenty of colour variation and good detail in the nebula.

Great Job. Very nice work on processing and color saturation.
Hi Troy
Sorry for the delay getting back, lots on at the moment.
I'm using the Hotech 2" field flattener. Got for $200 at OPT in the US

Carl
