Venus in the daytime.

It should be quite easy to spot Venus during the daylight today. If anyone was up early this morning you would have noticed that Venus is about
5 degrees North of a beautiful crescent moon.

To locate, first find the moon (it culminates at about 9:30am). The two points of the crescent moon are pointing directly at Venus. If you hold your hand at arms length and use two fingers side by side and place them at the top of the crescent points, Venus will be just above your fingers......that is, your fingers will be in between the moon and Venus.

The moon is slightly difficult to find because it is a narrow crescent.
It's about 37 degrees infront of the sun along the ecliptic (if you spread your hand fully open at arms length = 25 degrees, four fingers side by side at arms length = 10 degrees).
25+10=35 degrees.

nice one, if you had a circular polar filter you can darken the sky and get a better brighter shot.;)

I was up early too and imaged this but not too good should have used my scope.

that is pretty neet but, using your dob in daylight? becarefull if the sun's about.
