Hi all, is anyone using the 3.5mm Hyperion EP? I am interested in using it in my 8" Newt for Planetary and Lunar viewing. Do you have any feedback about it?

Many thanks.

Thanks to mental for a fantastic run down on high mag EPs and FOVs. I have all the advice I need and have made the purchase.

Hi John,
A few mornings ago I got up early to look at Jupiter and put 14 and 28mm extension rings on my 5 Hyperion and the view was out of this world on a f9 100mm ED frac. Think that makes the 5 a 3.5 mm eyepiece and it worked much to my amazement :D

Thanks Matt, living in inner Melbourne most of my time is spent on Lunar and planetary viewing. On the odd occasions it is clear on a new moon there is an opportunity to look at clusters but not really nebula (at any time in the city as far as I am concerned), so I'm looking forward to the 3.5mm Hyperion. With a neutral density filter it brings it to a 2.9mm with a beautiful big open window of 68 degrees. The great thing about this eyepiece is it will allow me to remove the barlow (another piece of glass between me an the object) and it will remove a lot of weight from my focuser.

Really looking forward to getting into Jupiter in Nov/Dec (opposition)
