Hi All,

When I was out a few weeks ago taking pictures of the Milky way, I captured two images where planes were flying through the field of view during the exposure.

Given the long exposures, the navigation lights create an interesting effect - the red and green lights on the wings produce lines and the strobe lights flash at regular intervals.

It would be interesting to see if anyone else has similar images.

Cheers,
Mark

They are pretty common. I think you'll find most imagers aren't happy when trails show up in subs ;)

They do look pretty cool though. I love it when a meteor zips through the image too.

Yeah that is true I suppose. Once I'm done cursing I usually have a closer look ;)

I've got a few planes, couple of satellites and the ISS as a streak, not spotted any meteors yet but haven't really been looking for them.

Pretty common really, they really don't help when one is doing a imaging set of subs, heres one i got half way through my subs.

I don't mind a nice meteor trail. Planes though, not so much.
