Howdy all. Well the problems more to do with me I feel but anyway; I finally had a clear sky tonight and went out to run off a few pics for the first time ,just widefield ones of crux region. ten 60 sec exposures. Raw,and they came out pretty good .Problem is when I loaded them into DSS, the pcture that showed in the prevew was just a narrow vertical strip. In my fav.picture viewer the photo's are full size. I see theres a custom rectangle setting. maybe I used it the other day when playing around with a couple of old photos and it's remembered the setting and defaulted to it. I dont know. I even stacked my images to see what would happen and the resulting photo was just that thin small portion of the sky. Any ideas? Cheers.
You need to check if you have the latest DSS version 3.3.0 and that it supports the Canon 1100D.
It may be that the RAW converter in DSS doesn't support the 1100D yet.
I haven't kept up with all the Canon models so not sure if it's supported.
Someone else may confirm it.
In the mean time try the jpgs if you have them too.
:)
Did a quick search and found this yahoo thread, re: 1100D prob with DSS.

You need to download Deep Sky Stacker 3.3.3 beta 47 and all your wildest dreams will come true. :)

Thanks for posting too, I have an 1100D arriving in a few days and needed to update to the latest beta.
I use it for the 550D too. :)

I needed that for the 600D also, I think you also need it for the 650D but need that confirmed.
