Please be advised that the Sutherland Astronomical Society (SASI) will be holding our public open nights on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August 2012 at the Green Point Observatory, Oyster Bay in Sydney's southern suburbs.

Members of the public are invited to join club members for a night under the stars where views of the Moon, planets and deep sky delights can be viewed through the club's telescopes. There will also be a viewing field where club members will be sharing their own equipment. I will be there with my portable imaging rig taking photos of the stars as well.

These nights are very informal and family friendly events. If you are on the viewing field please be mindful that this equipment is expensive so please follow any instructions from the club members and Co-Ordinator/s.

Further information can be found on www.sasi.net.au (http://www.sasi.net.au).

Hope to see you there.

Wayne

I'll be there on the field :)

Here's a copy of the flyer for interested people.

Cheers,

Just thought I should give this a bump seeing it is on this Friday/Saturday. I saw the roster of telescopes last night and it is quite an impressive list ranging in size from large newtonians down to my "humble" 4" Tak refractor and of course the society's domes will be open for viewing as well.
