Thanks Gary, bought back memories....
When we turned up in 2010, they lady in the ticket booth asked what we wanted to see. I was so excited I simply babbled "eveything"....

Gary, there was only one shuttle in the VAB when we were there last October. Where are all the whinging children and the armed guards making sure you don't cross the yellow lines?
Hi Dean,
LOL! I can well imagine!!!
You know, I have never been there and I would love to see it! You are so lucky!
Bet when those Google guys turned up those armed guards had to really bite
their tongues and keep their trigger fingers scratching elsewhere in frustration
as they watched that yellow line being transgressed.
A quick anecdote. A uni friend and a fellow engineer I was working with during the
80's had to make a trip for the company to Florida. The place that he had to visit
was very close to KSC. He said he was in a cafe in Cocoa Beach having a meal
when the waitress came over, re-filled his coffee cup and said in a southern
drawl, "Y'all here for the Shuttle launch?". "What Shuttle launch?", asked my friend.
"Oh, about 10 minutes ago", she said. He had no idea that it was taking place
and he came back to Sydney so annoyed. If only he had stuck his head out the
door of the cafe he could have witnessed a Space Shuttle blasting off into orbit.
