Hi all, for a while I have not so many "unusual" objects to show so for the time being I have only some evergreen nebulae to propose :D
Below is the link to a classic, NGC6334, imaged during the last few weeks from Coona:

The Cat's Paw Nebula (http://www.glitteringlights.com/Images/deepsky/13667287_7Mtr58#%21i=2007174801&k=ST6ZxkX&lb=1&s=X3)

This one is an mix narrow (Ha+OIII) and RGB, quite deep with more than 21 hours of light collected. View recommended is at full resolution, there are some nice details to appreciate in particular close the center of the image.

Hope you will enjoy this version :)

A beautiful Cats Paw photo Marco.

I love the colour and detail. Nice composition too.

Probably the best photo of this object that I have seen.

Thank you.

Ross.

Lovely Marco - good colour & composition and the full res version is nice to swim around in.

Have to agree with Ross on this one, I can't imagine a better wide-ish field version really  It's a great field...quite Lipstick Red though.... :evil2:...but nice :D

Superb.

I love the dream-like quality of all your images. It's something that I also strive for... if I could get time to image!

A very good version of this object.

Its not the most photogenic object around and you've done a good job of it.

Perhaps better suited to longer focal length where it shows up a lot of the rippled gas in one of the paws.

Nicely done Marco, rich colours, but I am not seeing any evidence of the OIII gvien the 5 hours exposure?

cheers

Awesome Marco. The Oiii adds some nice colors to the inside of the paw's pads in contrast to the deep red Ha.

Thanks Marc!

Grazie Leo ;)

Thanks Martin, indeed there is OIII there but mostly got it in few parts of the nebula only, much of it overwhelmed by Ha signal. Most contribution was a change of hue on the parts with stronger OIII emission, i.e. the southern east and nordern area. I also have another problem with my narrowband data, i.e. the limited subexposures I can get max 10 to 15 mins) before having substantial trailing due to some flexures on my focuser. This translate into less prominent signal recorded in case of faint emission, in fact even if I exposed for a total of 5 hours in case of OIII (quite weak comparing to Ha) had quite a noisy image at the end with the noise contribution of each frame quite evident once the image was streched. I should go for at least 30 or 40 minutes subs as John Gleason is doing, unfortunately this is not possible with my current setup :(

Hi Greg, thanks. I totally agree, a longer focal lenght would be a much better match, but at the moment I have to settle down with my OTA, no options to change it for quite a while :)

Thanks H, too kind of you :thanx:

Hahaha, thanks Mike, the red hue discussion going ahead, happy to provide more material to debate

Thanks Marcus!

Thanks Ross, not sure if this is the best photo at this focal lenght though ;)

Thanks Louie :)

Thanks Peter! I was in doubt of how much details bring in from the Ha channel, most of these were not so prominent in the RGB data. Apparently got a lucky blending according your comment, happy about that ;)
