This prom has been visible for a couple of days now... quite a remarkable structure.
Here it is at about 80% res (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery175.html)

This is what comes with diameter. Not the prominence which is nice but not extra ordinary, but the spicules. I can vaguely get them with my 60mm and am hoping I get them with the 80mm. Very nice spicules Pete. Love them. Oh by the way nice prom.

Ta... hopefully this is just the supporting act :)
Agreed Paul, spicules are always good.
Aperture does help...but I find the scope is seeing limited most days.
I also suspect an AP155...designed to cover a 6cm x 7cm field... might have a tad better polish, figure, correction and Strehl than your average Solar doublet ;)
Wow that is impressive as well Peter, very nice indeed.

I would hope so. Seeing of late has been not great but all the advantages you have with the scope will produce infinitely better images than my little 60mm that is for sure. The performance of the AP is a significant value for sure.
