Hello all,

Great to see the growing number of solar images here - hoorah!

Today I had a brief morning session in typical Brisbane conditions.

Image one shows a flare right in the middle of a Sunspot! The flare actually started to the left of the Sunspot and moved over it.

Image 2 shows the last of the stuff thrown out by the Sun recently - it is by far the 'highest' feature I have imaged on the Sun!

The last pic is just the close up of the same prom. I wanted to do more close ups but conditions suited very low magnification!

Crikey, stunning. Nothing this side, cloudy and raining.

Wow Matt, what a fantastic collection! The flare emerging from the sun spot is quite extraordinary – top shooting!

I have seen a lot of flares since solar imaging, but seeing an x class late in cycle 23 was pretty amazing to watch as I was imaging. It released so quickly.

I really like the faint prom you have captured. It is amazing how this prom changed over the course of a couple of hours.

Thanks all!
I am happy to have got some pics but sad that conditions only produced really poor (unpresentable) close ups of the flare area!
