I didn't know that... did you? scary ....
I did a search on "aurora" and "sound" here in the forum and found 1 post
about a close encounter:

The video in the middle of this (German) article has a (less impressive) recording of such an event:

official video description speaks of 70m above the ground...

eek - what happens when "it" happens - whatever "it" is - near your head?
does your brain get fried?
do you become enlightened?
does your liver split the alcohol thousand times faster?

I mean really -
the quantum leap that lets the oxygen electrons spit out a green photon in 100km altitude is the same leap they take to help split the alcohol. If I'm not mistaken.
(and all over our body is this happening with oxygen.)

when the aurora is audible that means it happens close enough around you.

I volunteer for a field study examining the speed in which alcohol is dissolved under the influence of an audible aurora.
I understand that for this experiment, I will have to be pre-intoxicated on every aurora occasion - to be ready for the one in a thousand audible events. . I won't blame negative effects on my health on the scientists - in fact I would be gladly sacrificing my body and life to this ground breaking experiment.
har har har. :D
