In August / September I shall be helping an elderly gentleman move to a retirement home. He is a former Ham Radio operator, and (most of all) an accumulator of old junk. He has rooms full of old radio testing equipment, valves, etc, which has to go. Not interested in selling, but in distributing to someone who can do something with this stuff. I realise some of it will have to go to the tip. No hurry on right now, but if anyone is interested in this stuff I can send photos and more information via this forum. Location is Bowral NSW.

Many thanks John

John,

It may be a big ask but it would be helpful to create a catalogue of sorts, for instance, there's a couple of specific valves that I'd be interested in should they be amongst the "clutter".

Cheers.

Being a ham myself (VK4KL) I would love to offer a new home for some of the gear but I think I would get shot by my wife if I volunteered to rehouse the gear.

Although if any antennae, in particular wire dipoles and you are willing to post I could convince SWMBO.

This thread has a sad ending.

Last night my friend Jim's house in Bowral was burnt to the ground (photo attached) Jim (VK2nx) is OK with burns mainly to his lower legs. He should be out later in the week.
Unfortunately three rooms filled with old radio gear were destroyed. The only gear left is some old meters, and a few long pole aerials stored in the garage workshop.

I will try to contact all thsoe who have expressed an interest in this gear with a p.m. to let them know.

Many thanks for all your enquiries.

John
