i have the old neximage webcam- past upgrades include the 840K and SPC900NC- the images were almost comparable but the neximage always won out- so now i have a DBK with the 098 CCD chip, i havent tried anything but daytime AVI's yet, but the DBK wont debayer in R6 unless i use the RGBcodec, anyway- with that being said, even with 'no compression' i still get a better image with my old nexiamge webcam- its much sharper in detail- i just dont get it, ill keep it until i get a good shot at jupiter and give it an honest try, this doesnt make sense to me now, both capture at 30fsp, so why isnt the DBK better?

Because you are doing something wrong :P
The DBK21 is a huge step up from the neximage, I've owned both and there is no comparison.
Post a screengrab or two of your capture settings so we can take a gander.
