I have a older Sony 3CCD camera - the TRV900. Would this be a better planetary imaging device than say a Tucam? I am really stuggling to get useable results from my old Logitech QuickCam...

hey tic toc,

what have you tried to image and with what setup ie barlow?

got any images you could post for us to have a look at?

the toucam is more senstive than the others cams, and i haven't seen enough video cams to be abe to advise if they are better than the toucam.

I think my issues are twofold - firstly with my current mount I am finding it a really hard and extremely frustrating (i.e lots of swearing and cursing) to actually get the object to hit the CCD, and that is on an Unbarlowed C8. If I had a 5x powermate, it would be almost impossible. :D

Secondly, the times I have actually had something to process in registax, the end result always seems to be very smeared.

Since I am sick with the flu, I guess I can get stuck into some tutorials
