0.965" Eyepieces

Hiya,

I've recently been given a classic old school scope.
It's a 1976 Tasco D3 (Made in Japan) and it takes the older eyepieces.
The scope didn't come with any eyepieces.
Today I picked up a 0.965-1.25" adapter but I can not achieve focus with any 1.25" eyepieces as there is not enough inward travel.
Would anyone have any available?
Looking for 20-40mm for lunar viewing but would consider anything.
