Hi,

Finally found some time to process my images from yesterday.
The solar maximum is proving to be really interesting.
Details - PST and Imaging source camera. 31 videos processed in Registax. Individual images joined using CS5 (photomerge) and then further processed.

Thanks for looking.

They are great images.

So I gather the PST can't fit the full disc in a single frame? Or is that the way you choose to shoot for higher resolution?

Nice effort. Well worth the processing. :)

Was that 31 videos or an 31 model IS camera? It seems like a lot of videos. This is the path it looks like I'm going to take to get a full resolution disc.

Kevin, I have the DMK41 and it will fit the full disc quite easily. As far as I know it's just the 41 and 51 models that it will fit on
However due the the hotspot on the PST certain areas on the disc show more detail than others At least this is the case with mine

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the kind comments. I can't get the whole disk in one shot with my IS camera. After some trial and error I use eyepiece projection with a 17mm Plossl and a GS focal reducer screwed into the eyepiece. This allows me to achieve focus and gives me even illumination over the field with good magnification and resolution.

I used 31 videos from overlapping fields. Sounds a lot but it is worth the effort. The full image has some nice detail.

Now seriously thinking of getting a Coronado solar max 60 or Lunt scope. I think I have the solar equivalent of aperture fever!

regards,

RichardJ :)
