Did anyone else from the Sunshine Coast/Brisbane see the fireball/bolide last night around 6 - 6:30 pm (too excited to remember to look at the time :ashamed: ). It was South Southwest (no more than 20 deg from due south) from where I was at -26.52,152.79. It fell from near zenith to about 15 deg above the horizon, where it broke up into about half a dozen or so pieces.
VERY impressive! :eyepop:

Damn, I missed that one.
Glad you got to see it though. :)

Yes, my wife and I saw it at 6:22pm Saturday as she was driving me home from an unscheduled trip to the doctor (as I had the unfortunate experience of stepping on a blue-spotted stingray over on Peel Island in Moreton Bay and I received a nasty and very painful laceration on my heel - I now know why thay are called stingrays!).
The meteor was about as bright as Venus, one of the brightest I've seen!
Cheers,
Stephen

Ouch! At least you were in the right place at the right time then Stephen ... small consolation though. :(
